Devlog #1–2: Building the Compliance Simulator Game
An immersive, Unity-powered compliance game for Privacy, AI, and Security teams.
Hello privacy folks,
It’s been a while since the creative privacy movement began — from the early comic books to the Privacy Capture-the-Flag games — and now, it’s entering its next evolution.
A new serious game is taking shape: Compliance Simulator, a Unity-powered immersive experience where you play as the lead for data protection, AI governance, and cybersecurity. Your mission: help your coworkers navigate real-world privacy and security dilemmas to keep your fictional game studio on the right side of the law.
The project has officially reached a playable demo stage, and I’m incredibly excited to see where this journey goes next. The first playtesting invites have been shared with the amazing people who’ve supported this project since the comic book days all the way through Privacy Village. Your feedback has been invaluable — and surprisingly consistent:
“Can we use this for Data Privacy Day?”
Devlog #2 — Trailer + SCORM Edition 🚨🎮
After a round of playtests with teams across Europe, one big request emerged:
“We want this for Data Privacy Day, but it needs to work inside our LMS.”
So… I built it.
Compliance Simulator now ships as both:
🧩 A SCORM package that runs entirely client-side on any standards-compliant LMS
☁️ A SaaS plug-and-play version for teams without an LMS (or anyone who wants the easiest setup possible)
This shift turns the game into a true, turnkey event for January.
Privacy Day in a Box — launching January 2025
As January 28 approaches, Privacy Officers everywhere are juggling the same problem:
You need to raise awareness… but have very little budget, and even less time.
So I created Privacy Day in a Box — a fully interactive, competitive, gamified event centered around the new Compliance Simulator demo.
Why EU privacy teams already love it:
🔒 100% Data Sovereignty — SCORM runs client-side; no employee data ever touches our servers.
🎮 High Engagement — Employees actually compete for high scores instead of zoning out.
💸 Budget-Friendly — Flat-fee Event License valid January 15–February 15.
Don’t just check the box this year.
Build a culture.
Want to test the SCORM file?
I’m sharing early access with teams over the next two weeks.
If you want to try it on your LMS, just reply or DM me — happy to send the demo.
Thanks again to everyone who’s been part of this creative privacy adventure from comics → CTFs → Privacy Village → now a Unity game.
More updates coming soon.
Onward to Devlog #3.
